E3 – Permission to Feel: Redefining Emotional Safety for Black Boys
Black male students face a unique intersection of racial identity, cultural expectations, and systemic pressures that make emotional expression feel unsafe or unacceptable. This session examines the cultural and institutional barriers that silence Black boys and explores what it looks like to dismantle them. Attendees will leave with practical tools to build affirming, culturally responsive environments in schools and counseling offices where Black male students feel genuinely seen, emotionally safe, and empowered to express vulnerability as strength.
