Multilingual learners (English Language Learners) bring rich cultural and linguistic assets to schools, yet they often face academic, social-emotional, and postsecondary barriers. This session highlights a collaborative model between school counselors and EL teachers designed to “plant hope” by fostering belonging, resilience, and access, while “growing futures” through intentional academic and career planning. Participants will explore strategies aligned with the Ohio School Counselor Standards, including leadership, advocacy, and collaboration, to support multilingual students. Presenters will share data-informed practices, culturally responsive interventions, and a framework for integrating social-emotional learning with academic and career readiness. Attendees will leave with practical tools, sample lesson plans, and partnership structures that can be implemented immediately.
