Dr. Laura M. Harrison is Chair of the Department of Counseling and Higher Education at Ohio University. Her teaching and research focus on advocacy, college student mental health, and rehumanizing higher education. She has published more than 25 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, as well as six books on these topics. Before joining Ohio University in 2011, she was Associate Dean of Students at Stanford University. She earned her doctorate in Organizational Leadership from the University of San Francisco in 2006. Dr. Harrison draws on her humanities background to engage students in courses on helping skills, writing, and teaching.
