Dr. Angela Banks is an experienced clinician, counselor educator, and researcher specializing in trauma, intergenerational healing, and the mental health of Black women and families. She integrates clinical practice, teaching, and research to examine the psychological effects of historical and ongoing racial and gender trauma. Dr. Banks has developed and led workshops, courses, and community trainings on trauma-informed, culturally responsive care. She conducts qualitative research using narrative and storytelling methods to highlight lived experiences and challenge dominant perspectives. Her scholarship draws on trauma theory, Black feminist thought, and intergenerational trauma research, with an emphasis on translating theory into practical, ethical interventions for clinicians and educators.
