Dr. Sherdene Simpson has a background in administration, diversity, equity and inclusion, systemic counseling, supervision, and teaching. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, with supervisory designation, Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Mental Health Counselor (FL.) and is a certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Grief Recovery Methods facilitator. Dr. Simpson is the current president of the Ohio Counseling Association. She has served in several leadership roles as the past president of Eastern Ohio Counseling Association and the Inaugural Chair for the OCA Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Cultural Dignity Committee. Dr. Simpson's clinical and research includes multicultural informed supervision, supervision competency and systemic treatments. She has worked as an adjunct faculty member, a Visiting Assistant Professor of Practice, and is currently core faculty at Florida Gulf Coast University. Dr. Simpson is a clinician in private practice, a certified trainer for PREPARE/ENRICH Customized Inventory and is currently completing training through the Gottman Institute.
