Detective Mike Takacs has been with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office (LADA) for over six years. He is currently assigned to the Cyber Crimes Investigation Unit and the DUI Training and Prosecution Section (DTAPS). Prior to his time in law enforcement, he worked as a Development Scientist for a biomedical instruments company. He then worked as a Police Officer with the Monrovia Police Department for eight years (four years in the patrol division, followed by four years in the gang/narcotics unit), prior to transferring to the LADA. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry, has been a certified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) for 11 years, and has testified as an expert in court numerous times on various topics such as drug/alcohol impairment, drug sales, and gangs.
