Dr. Gretchen Baker is a Research Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University with a background in Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering. She leverages engineering, epidemiology, and injury prevention approaches to improve protection of vulnerable road users, with an emphasis on pediatric and female populations. Her work has a focus on child passenger safety, specifically evaluating booster seat performance and increasing optimal restraint use for adolescents. She has authored or co-authored 30 peer-reviewed publications and has given over 50 academic and/or community-focused presentations on these topics. Finally, she has provided community and professional education as a Child Passenger Safety Technician for 7 years.
