In a world where technology is evolving, online schools give students the flexibility to prepare for their futures. For some students who have faced barriers in brick & mortar schools or have other challenges in their lives, online school can be a flexible option. These students also still need support from their school counselor to succeed. We will explore the unique landscape of school counseling in an online setting and learn how comprehensive school counseling programs are delivered to support every student's social-emotional needs, academic success, and college and career readiness. Finally, we will provide an overview of different types of online public schools and how they can benefit different students. This session is designed to build awareness and understanding of the online school setting.
