This presentation will review realistic developmental expectations for elementary students and their ability to 'stay on task.' If you get lots of referrals for students that have attention issues, you will walk away with many suggestions on how to get kids to choose the broccoli (the hard work) rather than the buffet (all the distractions in the classroom). Many times it is about having realistic expectations from staff and modifying our environment and teaching styles to meet the developmental needs of students.
