Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) provides students, especially marginalized students, a way to take ownership of their environment and create a positive impact. Students identify an issue in their school, collect data on that topic, and combine their personal experiences and research to create a plan for a better future. This presentation describes the process and outcomes at the individual and system level from a recent YPAR program evaluation. Systemic initiatives through PBIS, small group, and social justice programs along with student hope and belonging scores will be reviewed.
