B7 – Caught in the Middle: Ethical Decision-Making in Dual Enrollment
Dual enrollment is often promoted as a risk-free pathway, yet school counselors regularly navigate ethical dilemmas tied to student readiness, program expectations, and increasing pressure from families. School counselors are often expected to manage these complexities with little formal training or guidance. Presented from both high school and university perspectives, this session examines real CCP scenarios, including unrealistic degree expectations, early access concerns, and rising DFW rates among younger students. Participants will engage in interactive, case-based discussion and leave with practical strategies to support students while upholding ethical counseling practice.
