This presentation will review the state requirements for suicide prevention programming through the Safety and Violence Education (SAVE) Students Act (House Bill 123), briefly acknowledging the varying strengths and limitations of approved programs. We will explore best practices for implementing suicide prevention programing in schools, will share the benefits of and preparation needed for enhanced suicide screening in conjunction with programming, and identify how to partner with community supports to ensure safe implementation.
