B4 – Creating Grief Informed Schools
The loss of a loved one, especially a parent or other caregiver, is a significant moment in a child’s or adolescents’ life. Children and teenagers face unique challenges and a wide range of emotions when they experience grief. The mental health challenges unique to bereaved children necessitate creative and engaging interventions on the part of professionals working with them. Consequently, this training will provide an overview of the needs of grieving students, and how to best support grieving students in school-based settings.
