Patrick Vasil is the Director of Compliance & Enforcement for the Ohio Department of Commerce’s Division of Cannabis Control, where he leads statewide regulatory oversight across Ohio’s licensed cannabis industry. In this role, he directs multidisciplinary teams of inspectors, program administrators, and a law-enforcement liaison, ensuring product safety, preventing diversion, and upholding the integrity of one of the state’s most complex regulatory frameworks. He oversees the development of compliance policies, standard operating procedures, and risk‑based enforcement strategies, and authorizes administrative actions ranging from fines to suspensions and revocations. With two decades of investigative and regulatory experience, he previously served as Deputy Director of Investigations at the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, Crime Victim Services Division. There, he managed statewide investigative operations, implemented process improvements, and built a strong record of strengthening enforcement frameworks, improving operational efficiency, and advancing public‑safety‑focused policy. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from John Carroll University.
