Ohio State Highway Patrol
When she was younger, Jessica wanted to be a detective, like Nancy Drew. Solving puzzles was something Public Safety Intelligence Manager Jessica M. Lagucki was good at, and really liked doing.
Jessica Lagucki received her undergraduate degree from Cedarville University and received her Master’s Degree from Tiffin University. One of her professors was a former trooper who suggested that she intern with a crime analysis group. She was not familiar with crime analysis at the time, but she learned and was hooked. She learned that the Ohio State Highway Patrol had an Intelligence Unit and in 2019 she began her career with the Patrol’s Intelligence Unit.
PSIM Lagucki says the best part of working for the Patrol is the opportunity to work with people from across the state and beyond. She works in one of the Patrol’s Fusion Centers so she has the opportunity to work with agencies through the U.S. She loves the collaborative efforts in the Fusion Center, working together to make a safer Ohio. She works on the fraud investigations team and works often with the Ohio Investigative Unit on welfare fraud. The variety definitely keeps things interesting. She is quick to add that her supervisors and managers are so supportive and encourage the analysts to work on investigations that are interesting to us. She is equally as quick to compliment her “amazing coworkers” who she says are great people.
