Richard Troisi
Service and Support Administrator (SSA)
Youngstown State University / MCBDD
Richard Troisi is a master’s student in clinical mental health counseling in a CACREP-accredited program. Previously, he attended law school on a full scholarship, believing litigation was the best way to help others. He soon recognized that the legal field’s adversarial approach conflicted with his values of compassion and empathy. After a year working with K-12 students, particularly at-risk youth facing severe behavioral challenges and trauma, he discovered his passion for the helping professions and began pursuing counseling. As a behavioral interventionist, he used popular media to support behavior change in children and now works as a caseworker serving individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
