Trinity Morton
Full-Time Student, Counselor Trainee
The Ohio State University
Trinity Morton has experience supporting Black athletes through identity exploration and transition preparation. Trinity developed a research-based group counseling proposal for Black collegiate athletes transitioning out of their athletic careers, including a literature review on athletic identity, identity foreclosure, cultural influences, and coping strategies. Trinity used these insights to design a psychoeducational counseling group that integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, multicultural, and person-centered approaches to promote identity exploration, build resilience, and support a healthy transition.
