21–67% of counselors experience burnout and 40% report secondary traumatic stress, including Ohio counselors facing workforce shortages (Harrichand et al., 2021; Lawson & Myers, 2011; Liang et al., 2024). Supervision exists in every counselor's career — but is it elevating vitality or eroding it? This session makes the ethical and empirical case for restorative supervision grounded in ACA standards of nonmaleficence, beneficence, and self-care. Participants examine four evidence-based frameworks via Ohio scenarios and leave with a six-step toolkit of restorative supervisory moves.
