This presentation examines how supervision and vicarious liability shape ethical and legal risk in counseling practice. Using findings from the HPSO 2024 Counselor Liability Report, participants will review case examples illustrating common supervision breakdowns, documentation concerns, trauma and high-risk case oversight, and telehealth challenges. Practical strategies will be provided to help supervisors, agencies, and clinicians reduce risk, strengthen accountability, and promote client safety and competence.
