Veterans and first responders often complete trauma treatment yet struggle with reintegration due to unaddressed identity disruption and loss of purpose. This session examines the gap between symptom reduction and sustainable reintegration, exploring how counselors can shift their clinical lens toward meaning-making, functional identity, and experiential modalities. Attendees will explore nature-based and peer-supported frameworks, a real-world program model, and practical language and intervention shifts they can apply immediately with this population.
