C3 – Document to Defend: Ethics, Law, and Best Practices for Counseling Minors in a Shifting Landscape
When legislation collides with ethics, counselors need more than good intentions; we need a plan. This session addresses the growing tension between parental rights legislation and child-centered practice in Ohio, including active threats to confidentiality and crisis care access. This session equips counselors with protective documentation strategies and ethical frameworks for setting boundaries with parents while centering child welfare. Participants will leave with practical tools for navigating confidentiality, consent, and client safety in a climate of increasing legal pressure.
