J3 – Examining the Experiences and Mental Health Needs of Lesbians Who Come Out During Mid-Adulthood
The number of lesbian women who come out during adulthood is growing, but the unique clinical needs of this population have been under-researched. However, evidence demonstrates that because counselors are not adequately trained to work with this population, harm has occurred. This presentation focuses on the coming-out experiences of lesbian women in mid-adulthood and provides insights for counselors to better serve this population.
