C9 – OCD: Helping Others Live with Uncertainty
Individuals experiencing symptoms of OCD, on average, spend 17 years of their lives suffering with shame and stigma related to their symptoms before receiving an accurate diagnosis. Additionally, current studies also show that less than 10% of individuals are receiving evidence-based care through their clinician (Elsouri, et al., 2024). With an increased understanding of OCD and its symptoms, providers will be better equipped to assess, diagnose, and refer those with OCD for the appropriate care needed to live fulfilling lives.
