To address challenges faced by women in academia and underrepresentation of women in leadership, drawing on recommendations from the literature, the presenters developed the Women’s Inclusive Mentoring Framework (WIMF). Attendees will explore challenges of and considerations for mentoring women in counselor education, discuss benefits of mentorship for leadership development and advancement of the counseling profession, and learn strategies to implement four foundational categories of the WIMF. Adaptation of the framework to other settings, such as professional associations, will be discussed.
