Counselors are increasingly called to be Social Justice advocates. However, limited literature currently exists on the role of supervisors in fostering social justice advocacy among their supervisees. This leaves many supervisors unprepared to support their supervisees in developing their advocacy skills. This presentation proposes a framework to guide supervisors in preparing counseling supervisees for advocacy. It highlights intentional skills that supervisors can implement to foster the growth and development of counselors into social justice advocates.
