P7 – Introduction to Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Therapists often feel unprepared to help clients with urges for self-harm, suicidal ideation, or other acute forms of behavioral dysregulation. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based modality that assists clients with a wide variety of symptoms, including those associated with high-risk dysregulation. This session will review the structure of DBT, including a treatment hierarchy and structure of skills class. DBT resources will be shared, and training in a sample of DBT interventions will leave participants prepared with tools to immediately help support their clients.
