P4 – Mind-Body Skills to De-Stress Your Students (and Yourself!)
Students who've experienced trauma & stress struggle to learn because their brain is stressed. We must learn ways to accommodate for this & help students feel safe, secure & loved. We must provide students with the tools to build self-awareness & management skills. Fortunately, there are hundreds of simple mind-body skills that can be explicitly taught to students to help them achieve emotional regulation. Mind-body skills are simple to teach & fun for students. They promote relaxation & reduce stress, creating a safe, calm & welcoming environment where all students can be successful learners.
