Rachel Reeves Hagelin is the lead secondary counselor for Belton School District #124 as well as the MTSS lead for her high school. She has been in education for twenty-eight years. Her career began as a high school English teacher before she found her true love in school counseling in 2001. She loves working with students individually, going into classrooms to do Mental Health Minutes every two weeks, and doing small student groups over stress relief, academic success, grieving, helping new students acclimate, and more. Rachel loves to learn and keep updated with evidence-based interventions and utilize them to help students academically and emotionally. She is the School Counselor of the Year for the state of Missouri for 2023-2024. She also served on the program committee for the ASCA 2024 conference, and she is the co-chair of the Missouri School Counseling Association professional development committee. She attends the ASCA, MSCA, and EBSCC conferences annually to keep current in her practice, and she has presented at the local, state, and national levels.
