Ohio House Bill 68, passed in January of 2024, has had a significant impact on members of the LGBTQ+ community, particularly minors, who are seeking care for a “gender related condition.” The growing restrictions has driven mental health professionals away from serving these vulnerable clients. This program seeks to support providers by reviewing the contents of the bill (including the bill’s definition of a “gender related condition”) and expectations of mental health counselors. Strategies and resources will be shared to boost the confidence of providers willing to support these clients.
