This engaging presentation will increase counselors’ cross-cultural competency when supporting Asian American across all four competency domains outlined by the Multicultural and Social Justice Counseling Competencies (MSJCC). The session contextualizes the historical background of anti-Asian racism in America, outlines the importance of incorporating decolonized approaches to mental health treatment, and presents evidence-based and practical skills for mental health professionals to enhance their counseling practice and inform advocacy efforts against anti-Asian discrimination.
