Tuesday, October 17, 2023, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Description

Clients struggling with homelessness and addiction represent a high-risk population with overdose rates up to 30 times higher than the general population. Barriers to treatment include negative perceptions of social service professionals, limited access to services, retraumatization in past treatment settings, and organizational systems. This session will detail special considerations when working with clients with homelessness and addiction, benefits of an integrated behavioral health approach, and an emphasis on integrating trauma-informed care to meet treatment needs.
