Name
C47 — Bridging the Gap in Cross Cultural Relationships for International College Students
Date & Time
Wednesday, October 18, 2023, 9:45 AM - 10:45 AM
Description

Counselors must be competent to provide effective services for international students' needs (Bartholomew et al., 2021). It is not uncommon for international students to experience challenges when seeking help, which can contribute to more psychological distress (Kim et al., 2016). One of the primary reasons for seeking counseling is making and maintaining connections on campus (Prasath et al., 2022). This presentation will address multicultural counseling competencies, as it pertains to international students, with an emphasis on interventions to address cross-cultural relationship concerns.
