Description

Research supports using improvisational techniques in counseling to increase well-being. Incorporating elements of improv into group counseling allows clients to practice listening, relinquishing control, being honest and generosity with others in a safe space. Participants will learn the principles of improv and engage in short-form theater games with a focus on how to use improv in therapeutic settings. The presenters will share techniques and interventions to build rapport, reduce negative self-talk and promote creativity, joy, and finding meaningful and supportive connections with others.
