Each year, licensed counselors face disciplinary action from state licensure boards for violating standards of practice in areas such as practicing outside the scope of practice, boundary issues, misrepresentation of qualifications, billing fraud, impairment, and failure to complete continuing education (Wilkinson, Smith, & Wimberly, 2019). The purpose of this presentation is to provide an overview of OCSWMFT disciplinary trends in Ohio. Attendees will leave with information on the current research and data, along with knowledge about counselor liability risk and management.
