Description

Grief is both a process and a state that cannot be approached through a one-size-fits-all lens. The use of creative interventions in grief work has been well-documented showing outcomes such as; client empowerment, partnership in the treatment process, the expression of grief in verbal and non-verbal forms, and the processing of complex emotional experiences. During this presentation, participants will review contemporary theories of grief. Participants will also take-away practical, creative interventions for treating grief including writing and storytelling, metaphors, rituals, and art.
