Attendees will be immersed in ethics-based experiential activities to identify and integrate culturally responsive, trauma-informed counseling practices with their clients and students. Attendees will build awareness of how their own cultural identity, potential biases, and perception of their counselor role may impact their ethical decision-making. Presenters will review foundational knowledge and skills for implementing an ethical decision-making model. Presenters will also facilitate group activities using intensive and evolving trauma case studies, practical interventions, and trauma-informed resources. Attendees can anticipate a reflective, highly interactive session that facilitates personal growth and professional competency to uphold ethical mandates when implementing trauma-informed practice.
