Jenny L. Cureton is a grant-funded researcher, counselor, educator, and consultant with specialized training and expertise in trauma and crisis, career development, and community and cultural responsiveness. She is an associate professor of Counselor Education and Supervision at Kent State University and has taught in four other counseling graduate programs, published 21 journal articles, and presented over 80 conference sessions/workshops. Jenny has been an independently licensed counselor for 18 years serving clients in community and medical clinics, college/university settings, and private practices. Jenny’s favorite professional conversations revolve around the intersection of trauma/crisis and career, such as vicarious trauma and post-traumatic growth in counselors, suicide-sensitive career counseling, and workplace readiness for trauma-informed practice. Jenny was the inaugural past-president, and currently serves as the president, of the Ohio Association for Resiliency and Trauma Counseling.
