The suicide of a client can cause both professional and personal impacts for a counseling supervisee. This presentation will explore these impacts, proactive and reactive supervision for a client suicide, and advocacy that can be done at organizations to appropriately respond to a supervisee after the suicide death of a client. Recommendations for supervision needs in the immediate aftermath of a client suicide will be highlighted. This session is appropriate for clinical supervisors and administrators from agencies and practices.
